Heaven or Hell

People have their own beliefs and play by their own rules. A very dear friend of mine recently wrote a story of two friends on his blog. In the story, a person who prays god without interest and who regrets having lost on all the joys of life while he was praying goes to hell after death and the one who goes to pubs and discos all life, but regrets not praying goes to heaven. The reason... I don't know. I am not clear! I had a heated argument with my friend on this yesterday that stopped a couple of guys on their way somewhere in the hostel to come into our room and enquire if everything was alright!
My point about the story is that all those should be put to hell who regret what they are doing! Doing something and regretting it later is very much human, it is called mistake. But doing it again after regretting once is something that should open the gateway to hell, this is called sin. Ofcourse the semantics in this couple of sentences are fully from the junrisdiction of my own grey matter. I don't care if anyone supports it or not!
What I say is do whatever you want, do it with heart, do it with happiness. You cannot judge what is good and what is bad. For me having non-vegetarian is bad and for you smoking is bad. Just because you eat non-vegetarian and I smoke, we aren't bad people! For me killing a person is bad, but for all those persons whom this dead person has pestered all life, it is holy! Nothing is same when it boils down to perception. So, you cannot judge what is good or what is bad by what people think. You need to judge it by what you think, and only for yourself.
Choose your own lifestyle. Make your own rules. Live by them. Circumstances may compel you to adjust or demand. Do everything as you feel right in a given situation. For example, my roomie smokes in the night when I am sleeping. He is demanding here and I am adjusting. I am forcing him not to play music or any other sound. The tables are turned around here! I don't consider him bad nor does he consider me bad! I don't want hell for him and long live his good senses, he should not be wanting hell for me.
If I start making a list of who should go to hell and who to heaven, the list to hell would have all the people ranging from the guy who stole my candy in my kindergarten to the prof who gave me a grade lesser than what I expected a month ago. Should they all go to hell? No, they were doing their business. They were doing what they felt right!(ofcourse, the chap who stole my kindegarten was just an example :P ) Probably they were right and I was wrong. Probably I expected more from them. I can give more examples and I can ellucidate my thought, but thats pure pleonasm! The moral of the story for me is that no one can decide heaven or hell for someone else. He can do it only for himself. You are the only one who can pull yourself to heaven or hell.
What is heaven or hell, anyway? In my view, Heaven or Hell is that last breath of your life in which your soul lives for eternity. It is your last moment of life where your conscience is lingering on the life you lived. You are thinking of what you have done all your life. If you regret anything then, you go to hell or if you feel I am happy with the life I lived and have done everything for my good, you go to heaven. Actually, you don't go to heaven or hell, but you attain it. Your soul attains it. If you regret or remorse what you have done all your life, your soul is depressed because you were feeling bad the last moment of your life and this is Hell.
You may not achieve anything great or anything worth passing on as a legacy, but if you don't feel a sense of a pity for yourself in your moment of 'Heaven or Hell', you are through to Heaven. The only way to heaven is living life to the fullest, not longest!

Close to one's final moment, one must be satisfied that his pilgrimage on earth was meaningful. That he could rise from the narrow confines of mundane things like money and fame and could use his life for loftier purposes like service to the society or nation. That apart from his own family members there were other lives also that could breathe easily and happily because he lived.

dont know much if there is heaven and consequently a hell to complement it... but the most important thing is that when you're dying at that moment you should be satisfied with what you've done with your life.. i agree with viki..

awesome post, dude!
not uncommon to find people regretting having done something, complaining and crying their hearts out, and still continuing with the same things over which they raised such hue n cry!
whether something is good or bad, the viewpoint varies from person to person...
best thing i liked in this post was the definitions of Heaven and Hell! superb!

Hey vats,
Did u forget whom to refer to when you are confused about this hell and heaven concept. Refer to my canon not to Maddi's cant.
Right from heaven
To turn on your lights

Yeah anyway as you say if one was working all his life for hell or heaven, then he'll surely have one helluva life to get into heaven :) I'm not sure which one gives more pleasure heaven before death or heaven after life, but let's just do what we want to.

wooooow!!!!!

fabulous expression of philosophy of life in your article..

"biggest mistake in life is to repeat the mistake... "

highly philosophical in the end..
what i believe is one has to pay every sin and rewarded to every good in this earth only....
perception of heaven and hell varies from person to person..

really moved by ur deep thoughts
