Woman... Wooooo... Man!
A radio announcement says there is a conference in Bangalore on 'What Women Want'. It is a conference or a seminar or the likes am not too sure, but there is some event on Women and what they want. It is amazing why women have to be sooo enigmatic! As I continue to wonder on the same and enter office to my daily doze of readin with a cup of coffee, am landed on ezine within 5 minutes and an article there talks about probably the most-talked about topic and a universally accepted fact - Men are From Mars, Women are From Venus.
The artcile, like many others we have been used to over the years, talks about how women never say what they want and cannot keep things simple. I dont blame them, for if I do that, it may have tough repercussions ;)
To me, Women are what they are, cos men make them what they are. Women may not be the weaker sex, but men made them feel they are the weaker sex, and then gave them concessions, pampered them and are today crying foul over their own mistakes. Women have the advantage of tactfully wearing the glove of being equal to men or being sub-ordinate to him. When they want equal rights or want to show they can do something, they say 'We are equal to men' with a baritone that could put Mr. B to shame! On the other hand, they say 'Oh! We are women.' with a sad face that emanates compassion out of a man. What a hypocrisy this worlds runs on! The bottomline is that women do whatever they want, get whatever they want all this all the time keeping a man in dark of what they really are.
They seem to keep a man in the dark as to what they really are. Finally, when a man voices his concern regarding the same he is called an MCP. Duh!
I dont say it is a woman's fault. It is the liberty that man had given a woman out of compassion and sympathy ages ago that has left us in a soup today. Women today want both equality in jobs and reservations. They want equal working conditions as men, but no night shifts, no extra hours etc... This may not be applicable to all women, there are always exceptions. If you are feeling indignant, probably you are one of them!
From societal observation, the funniest part of women is that a mom, a sister or a friend would never throw tantrums as your girlfriend does. Probably it is a man's compassionate side that wants to keep a woman all happy and at ease which she exhibits the most to ladies of his interest alone that gives the ladies that space to throw tantrums, and they seem to be doing a good job of it. History has always been witness to girlfriend and wife tantrums, but never a mom and sister problems. This is probably 'Multi-Threading' functionality of women! Each thread gives different reactions!
When I try to get a hang of what this all is, and WHY it all is, all I can see at the epicenter is a MAN... Man has given woman the liberty she enjoys, and more importantly, he has always believed in replicating a woman's needs, moods and wants and this has left him in a lurch today. It is probably hightime we make a fresh start, and leave all the gender biases at all levels, show neither discrimination nor sympathy based on gender and put each other on a equal pedestal, no more of that 'Men and Women are equal, but women are more equal than Men' syndrome. It is a shame on men who let women feel they are more equal! It is our psyche that needs a little mend before we reach a point of no return in this He-She battle!
Disclaimer: My respect for women is immense and is always intact. This is just an observation that has been triggered off by a chain of events that needed a vent and this had to be the place. Hope the point is clear!
Shubham has something similar to share!

and +1 on your tantrums point too.
My latest blog said the same thing - leave all the gender biases at all levels, show neither discrimination nor sympathy based on gender and put each other on a equal pedestal. I just hope this is very much possible :)
ha ha ha ha ha ha ha!!!!
naresh dear...there r things that r beyond ur comprehension(infact it goes for all guys)...so give ur lil brain sm rest ...dun think too much...
Well..dont try to understand women too much..becoz we guys will never be able to do that.. :)
No wonder people did not read it when you said these words - "It is probably hightime we make a fresh start, and leave all the gender biases at all levels, show neither discrimination nor sympathy based on gender and put each other on a equal pedestal, no more of that 'Men and Women are equal, but women are more equal than Men' syndrome" - their first impressions were already made in the beginning of the second para.
Some very tough repercussions our way babyeeee :)
Can't help smiling because after re-reading the post and comments - I have come to a conclusion that neither your post was understood fully nor were the comments "read" in-toto. The so 'very subtle' words actually disappeared and you have to bear the wrath n wear the garb of a "culprit" in eyes of a significant fraction of women.
Hats off to the men/women who understand this post and READ "THE" comment and still laugh at the whole thing.
ps: Am having to emphasize words now with quotes and caps because people have this uncanny habit of "reading" only the hitting words neglecting the words like 'i know u respect .....' Sorry, couldn't keep mum coz people ought to know
Nice article. I think the problem is that most women are being exploited like saraswathi pointed out, and some of them who manage to rise up really take advantage of the fact that they are women. IIT is no exception, women get what they want there, very few get in but those who do use 'being a female' to their advantage.
Errr...My comments have been thot to have been targeted at you but no. I have utmost respect for you and your thoughts.
Have fun:)
I have deleted my own comments cos I know ppl are bound to read it wrong though it was not targeted at you!
A very nice and interesting observation. Put in a very unbiased manner, and that's what makes it more effective. Proud of you :)
~ be who you are and say what you feel because those who mind don't matter and those who matter don't mind ~ - This concludes I hope naresh..
Rest the worries Saras coz when you speak of "ppl" who are bound to read it wrong - the above line says it all :)
@ Naresh: Interesting! Not too much into either side of the debate though - I personally know many men who get away with things because they're men & women who do the same. So...!
Thanks for the link man!
couldnt agree more naresh, although i dont have the brains to get into such a discussion.
althogu nice to c prasoon goin bonkers after somethng :P
but surely will say one thng,
men are from madhopur, women are from vizag :)
no comments [:P]
abt tantrums...dealing vth the wrong kind i guess [:)]
Hey again, the centre of your discussion is how MAN has given this liberty to women... so i guess there's nothing wrong with us having an edge over u ppl ;) afterall, why shud boys have all the fun
BTW. me has neva done that till now.. and neither has any man given me his seat/place in a queue! :(
ofcrse, thtz wht i have tried to emphasize! ;)
oh c'mon... go give it a try... ofcrse nt wid ppl like me, v despise dng tht now, atleast after this post ;)
interesting post! well u do have a point, today i used the "hehehe i'm just a silly girl" routine at the garage when i went to get an oil change. seems i over filled my tires! "lucky they didn't all pop" said the mechanic. i looked at him with wide eyes and said "ohmigod, i'm such a girl huh"? he just smiled and shook his head...silly girl he was thinking. well he excused me for exactly that reason, and i let him because it saved me from feeling so foolish at what i did! btw, i blogrolled u! :)
