This too will pass!
Last sem is damn good fun! You start getting to know people better, you learn more about yourself and relations get stronger. At a late night conversation today, to be precise an hour back, a friend was narrating a story he heard. It goes like this:
A king could never control his emotions. When he got agitated, he felt like a volcano and when he was depressed, he felt like a whirlpool that sucked everything in. So, he announced a contest. He asked his subjects to make something that will help him control his emotions. The winner was a goldsmith. He made a bracelet, on which was written, This too will pass! And the king exercised self-control to the hilt from then.
The statement made me think, of moments passed and moments happening. Goddamnit, I am only 21 and think of people who are double, triple my age. How many things must they have seen? How many joys and sorrows they must have gone through? Everyone has every type of memories, ranging from good to bad, from motivating to depressing. We hide them all in ourselves. We do express emotions ad hoc, but then the memories are written down somewhere inside us, with an ink that only time can erase.
There are people who commit suicide because they haven't made it to the top in some exam, or at some profession or personally! People quantise life in terms of achievements others recognise and rate themselves. I beg to differ! Why bother about others when you are happy? and what good is it when you aren't happy, no matter others are happy or not? Coming back, the quote made me feel that impulses in life are unavoidable, what we need is some presence of mind which pushes us down when we are agitated, and pulls us up when we are depressed. Probably, a neutraliser that always keeps the activity of mind at some reasonable normal level.
We probably should not get carried away by joys of life, nor get to a halt by the sorrows. Ofcourse this doesn't mean being stoic! Just keeping a tab on the lanes life passes through. This probably gets to the analogy of a car ride. Speed thrills, but kills and being slow does the same too for the world in its rush will crush you. A constant and healthy speed is what we need. There can be little shifts towards the top or bottom based on the traffic or the speed of life in the surroundings.
The bottomline is that everything is a passing cloud, just enjoy that moment no matter the odds favor whom. Take it all comes, for it will pass too!!!

Of course..
if we can understand, that everything is just there for a little time.. we can go anywhere..
but those arnd us must think the same na??
Most think we are crazy when we take things our stride right?
yeah there are many times in my life when i did things keeping other ppl in mind and i realised i have to start living life in my own terms..
Being balanced at the times of happiness as well as sorrow is a very tough task but life teaches u everything gradually....
Taking each failure or disappointment as a passing cloud is what keeps us going on in life...as i always believe the show just goes on:D
Suicide sucks.
And also that is why they give the batsman benefit of doubt in cricket. One impulse does not give another chance to the batsman but the bowler can always take a go !
